Learn how to create a custom Book Price field in WordPress. Display book prices from your preferred retailer to improve user experience on your author website.
Displaying the price of your book directly on your author website is a simple but effective way to improve the user experience. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to create a custom Book Price field using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). By showing the cost of your book upfront, you reduce friction for visitors, provide transparency, and streamline the path to purchase—all without turning your website into an ecommerce platform.
Even though this author website is NOT an ecommerce site it’s still worth posting the cost of your book from your preferred sales channel.
Visitors will be looking for it and it’s better to answer the question right away than attempt to force them to click through to your retailer of choice to find out the price.
From the WordPress admin Sidebar go to ACF > Field Groups and edit the Books Field Group
I’ll make this a required field
I’ll give this the following instruction to display as an aid to filling out the field.

In this lesson, you created a custom Book Price field linked it to your Books Custom Post Type. By making the price readily accessible, you enhance user experience while maintaining a professional and user-friendly author website.
