Create a Single Book Template in Breakdance

Introduction

Creating a dedicated single book template is key to showcasing your work professionally and consistently on your author website. In this lesson, we’ll walk through the process of setting up a custom Single Book template using the Breakdance website builder. This template will integrate all the custom fields we’ve built, ensuring every book post is visually appealing, organised, and optimised to convert visitors into readers.

Add the Single Book Template

From the WordPress Admin Sidebar go to Breakdance and Templates.

• Click on ADD TEMPLATE

There are a number of premade, active templates out of the box with Breakdance for Single Post, Post Archive for Blogs and others. There isn’t an existing template for our Books Template so we have to create one.

• Choose ADD CUSTOM TEMPLATE

Breakdance will suggest you read the documentation before adding a custom template. Click continue.

• Name the template ‘Single Book’ in line with the naming convention of the other templates
• From the drop down box select ‘Single >  Books’
• We have no conditions for this template
• And the priority is 20
• Click SAVE
