In this lesson, we will integrate our Breakdance-powered author website with MailerLite using a simple API token.
Integrate Breakdance with MailerLite
In this lesson I’m using Mailerlite as Breakdance has it as one of the email marketing integration options. If you don’t use mailerlite or one of the other email marketing service listed in the Breakdance settings I’ll show you how to connect to your service using webhooks in a later lesson.
For now we will stick with Mailerlite.
Get the API token
The first thing we need to do is get the API token from your email marketing service.
In mailerlite we go to the Dashboard > Integrations > API and click on use.
- Click on generate new token
- Complete the details
- Generate new token.
- Copy the token
- Keep a copy of the token somewhere safe.
Add the token to Breakdance
Go back to your WordPress dashboard
- Go to Breakdance > Settings > API Keys
- Find the MailerLite line
- Paste your API key into the MailerLite Input field
- Save Changes

By adding our MailerLite API token to Breakdance, we have created a direct link between our website and our email marketing platform.
