Learn how to set link colours for your author website to enhance usability, draw attention to key links, and maintain consistent branding across your pages.
The colours you choose for links play a vital role in the usability and design of your author website. In this lesson, we’ll explore two approaches to selecting link colours: aligning them with your brand palette or using traditional blue for recognisable usability. You’ll learn how to set global link colours in Breakdance, update your colour grid, and ensure your links are both visually distinct and strategically placed to guide visitors through your content effectively.
There are two schools of thought when it comes to links.
We could give links the same hex codes as our Brand settings or we can use the traditional BLUE.
I like blue for links. Visitors instantly know it’s a link and it’s a reminder to use links sparingly on your pages because they pull the readers eye to them just like buttons and visitors will click on them. Just make sure you only use links in your pages you REALLY want visitors to click.
